This light behaves like an art object—raw, honest, and elegant. Hand-turned from pear wood while still green, it was left to move and crack as it dried. I stitched the split with steel wire, worked the surface with a wire brush and coarse sandpapers, and finished it with white wax. The irregularities aren’t flaws but nature’s signature—the source of its character. The warm glow of the bulb gently illuminates the interior, creating an intimate, sculptural light above a table, kitchen island, or in a living room.
Why it’s special
-
One of a kind — every tool mark and every line of grain is unique.
-
Poetic asymmetry — the steel-wire stitch tells the story of the material.
-
Natural finish — a blend of oils and waxes protects the wood and brings out its texture.
-
Comforting, warm light — sets an ambience that adds elegance and warmth to the room.
Care
The wood is treated with a natural blend of oils and waxes applied in a thin coat to protect it and prevent damage. To keep the lamp beautiful for years, dust only with a soft cloth.
